The SZHLUX pieces people rate most

SZHLUX is a brand of LED grow lights, hammocks and garden tools, sold on Amazon, known for its soil moisture meter.
Our name first went on LED grow lights, and the range has grown outward into the yard: hammocks, steel stands, folding chairs, a beach wagon and the hand tools a garden needs. These six SZHLUX favorites have the most ratings from buyers, and each one opens in its department with every option and photo.

Light planner
Pick a light by the floor of your tent
Choose the space and the stage. The answer names the SZHLUX light sized for it, how high to hang it and how many hours to run it, using extension advice for LED fixtures.
For a 2 × 2 ft shelf at the seedlings stage: SZHLUX LED Grow Light Strips, 2 ft or 4 ft.
Two 2 ft strips cover a shelf and link up to four in a row on one cord. They have no dimmer, so set the height to suit the plants.
Hang it toward 24 inches above the tray, use the lowest step if your light has one, and run it about 14 to 16 hours a day.
For a 2 × 2 ft shelf at the leafy growth stage: SZHLUX LED Grow Light Strips, 2 ft or 4 ft.
Two 2 ft strips cover a shelf and link up to four in a row on one cord. They have no dimmer, so set the height to suit the plants.
Lower it toward 18 inches as leaves fill in, use full power, and keep 14 to 16 hours of light with a real night.
For a 2 × 2 ft shelf at the flowering stage: SZHLUX LED Grow Light Strips, 2 ft or 4 ft.
Two 2 ft strips cover a shelf and link up to four in a row on one cord. They have no dimmer, so set the height to suit the plants.
Keep it 12 to 18 inches above the canopy, watch for bleached tips, and give a steady 12 hours of light from a timer.
For a 4 × 4 ft tent at the seedlings stage: SZHLUX 400W LED Grow Light, Double Switch.
The 400W covers a 4 × 4 ft tent with two switches, three bars or all six. The 500W PT covers the same tent in bloom and reaches 5 × 5 ft in the leafy stage.

Production and history
From one grow light to a yard full of gear
SZHLUX started with light. The product notes on our 2 ft grow light still open the way we began. “We are a professional manufacturer of grow lights.” Our bar lights use a trapezoid tube of our own design, with a wider light-emitting face than a round T5 or T8 tube, set in an aluminum shell with no fan.
The outdoor range came from the same habit of building for real use: parachute nylon that dries fast, sewn strap loops instead of knots, steel stands that go together without tools. The dates below come from the U.S. trademark register.

- 2019
January: we file the SZHLUX trademark for LED lighting, already in use in commerce.
- 2019
July: the U.S. trademark office registers it as No. 5,821,337.
- 2025
June: a second filing covers hammocks, tents, ropes and straps.
- 2026
April: registered as No. 8,218,992. Today the name sits on 40 products in five departments.

Where we come out ahead, it is on straps, switches and heat protection built into the product. Rivals win in two places: Spider Farmer offers a longer service term, and both rival hammocks weigh less in a pack.
The SZHLUX story
Light first, then the yard
SZHLUX began with light. Our first trademark, filed in January 2019 and registered that July, covers LED lighting fixtures, and grow lights are still the heart of what we do. The trapezoid tube in our bar lights and strips is our own design. Its angled face gives a larger light-emitting area than a round T5 or T8 tube, and it sits in an aluminum shell with no fan, so the light runs quiet in a bedroom closet or a garage.

Growing indoors taught us to think in floor area rather than watts. A light is only right if it covers the tent it hangs in, so our bar lights state their footprint, from 4 × 4 ft for the 400W to 7 × 7 ft for the 800W PT8000. The PT series adds a timer and a temperature sensor. As a tent warms up it switches bars off at 86°F and 91°F, and it turns the light off at 96°F, which protects the plants on a hot afternoon.
People who grow their own food spend a lot of time outside, and our range followed them out the back door. Today the same name sits on camping hammocks in 210T parachute nylon, hammocks on steel stands, quilted hammocks with hardwood spreader bars, egg chairs, a folding rocking chair, a beach wagon with 7.9 inch wheels and the hand tools a garden needs. In June 2025 we filed a second trademark for hammocks, tents, ropes and straps, and it was registered in April 2026.
Five departments, one way of working
| Point | Products | Main number | Most rated |

| Grow & Shop Lights | 10 | 40–840 W | LED Grow Light 2 ft, Warm White, 2 Pack (1,199 ratings) |
| Hammocks & Stands | 8 | 400–500 lb | Camping Hammock, Single or Double (4,494 ratings) |
| Patio & Camp | 6 | 185–600 lb | Collapsible Wagon, Big Wheels (768 ratings) |

The hand tools came the same way. Snips with straight blades handle herbs and house plants, bypass shears in SK5 carbon steel take woody stems, a moisture meter tells you when to water without a battery, and galvanized live traps look after the shed. The 32 inch cage trap folds almost flat, so it rides in the trunk to a cabin and back.
Indoors, the home range adds fruit containers with colanders that lift out for rinsing, 5 tier shelving rated for 2,000 lb and kitchen shears with 2.5 mm stainless blades.
Each department has one number that matters most: the power draw of a light, the rated load of a hammock or a chair, the length of a garden tool and the count of pieces in a home set. Compare two products by that number and you compare like with like, in a tent or on a patio.

We are just as plain about limits. Our strips have no dimmer. The 400W changes brightness in two steps rather than on a dial. The bypass shears handle branches up to about an inch of soft wood and stop sooner in hard wood. A camping hammock needs two healthy trees, and a stand is heavy to carry. Better to know that now than after the box arrives, because the right product is the one that suits your space.
15 of our products also carry recycled-content certificates issued under Textile Exchange standards, and you can look every number up in the certificates above. Every buy button takes you to checkout with our retail partner, where payment, delivery and returns are handled.
Type the distance between the two trunks.
Too close for a camping hammock. The trees stand nearer than the Medium is long, about 8.9 ft, so it would fold and sit low. Choose another pair or use a stand.
A good fit. The camping hammock spans the gap and the two 10 ft straps take up the rest, with loops to spare for height.
It reaches, just. The straps run long, and a thick trunk uses more strap to wrap. Add our spare 10 ft straps or test the sag before you sit.
Too far for two straps. Pick closer trees or put the hammock on a 9 ft steel stand.
Our arithmetic uses the hammock length and two 10 ft straps. Tree advice follows the Leave No Trace guidelines. How to hang a hammock.
Hammock fit
Check the gap between your trees
Pace out the distance between two living trunks at least 6 inches across, type it in, and you will know before you order whether a camping hammock fits or a stand makes more sense. Hang it loose and under 5 feet off the ground, with straps at least an inch wide, the way Leave No Trace asks.
- 6 intrunk, at least
- 1 instrap width, at least
- 5 fthighest hang
No trees in the right place? Our 3 stand options carry 450 to 500 lb on a deck, a lawn or the sand, and the hammocks and stands department shows them all.
Which cutter
Pick the cutter by the stem
Choose what you are cutting. Soft green stems want precise snips, woody stems up to about 3/4 inch want bypass shears, and anything thicker wants a bigger tool. Timing matters as much as the tool: most pruning belongs in late winter, and spring-flowering shrubs right after they bloom.
Gardening scissors, 6.5 in. Straight blades that cut to the tip for herbs, flowers and house plants, with a spring and a lock.
Bypass pruning shears. SK5 carbon steel blades, rated as 5/8 inch clippers, for woody stems and small branches. Cut about 1/4 inch above an outward bud.
Neither of our hand cutters. Over about an inch, a branch needs loppers or a pruning saw. Forcing shears through it bruises the stem and springs the blades.
Size limits for hand shears follow University of Minnesota Extension, read 27 October 2026.
Questions
Quick answers before you order
Which SZHLUX grow light fits a 4 × 4 ft tent?
The 400W double switch and the 500W PT both cover a 4 × 4 ft tent in bloom, and the 500W PT reaches 5 × 5 ft in the leafy stage. Pick the 400W for simple switches and the PT for a built-in timer and heat steps.
How much weight does a SZHLUX hammock hold?
The Medium camping hammock is rated for 400 lb and the double version for 500 lb. Our hammock stands carry 450 lb, and the portable stand carries 500 lb.
Do SZHLUX bypass shears cut branches over an inch?
No. They are rated as 5/8 inch clippers and handle 1/2 to 1 inch branches depending on the wood, so thicker limbs need loppers or a saw.
